50s rewind

Modernist house featured at Modernist Australia

The house above is featured on "Modernist Australia" - a website profiling modernist Australian architecture and listing modernist real estate currently on the market.

The most inspirational houses are those which have remained loyal to the 50s modernist style by decking out their property with authentic modernist furniture. Expect lots of Eames chairs - and not the Matt Blatt replica variety). I'd love to buy a piece of modernist Australian history and spend a few years finding furniture pieces that compliment it perfectly. Until then (ie until I win the lottery?) I'll just have to go visiting.

The Modernist Australia website includes a post called "A pilgrimage to Rose Seidler House".

I've posted a photos from my own pilgrimage to Rose Seidler house. I visited during the open day in Wahroongah a few months ago.
