A girl after my own heart

Prada jealousy

Just some of the reasons I'm jealous of Jane Aldridge (creator of the Sea of Shoes blog):

1. Her recent Prada Purchases in Paris (see attached picture).
2. Style.com arranged for her to go to 31 Rue Cambon for a personal fitting & styling session at Chanel for her deb ball dress (see here.)
3. I've only just started following her blog, but based on the above I'm sure there will be more reasons to come...

Two reasons I'm not jealous of Jane Aldridge from the Sea of Shoes blog:

1. She lives in Dallas. [*Evil laugh* tee hee.]
2. She had to go to a deb ball.

Fashion's Night Out [NYC shopping on smack]

Anna Wintour has decided to single-handedly drag the US (actually, the world) out of recession.

Fashion's Night Out is a global joint initiative "to promote retail, restore consumer confidence, and celebrate fashion. US and international editions of Vogue are coordinating evening extravaganzas in their respective world fashion capitals."

For example, the NYC event features free manicures @ Chanel, cocktails @ Banana Republic, AND A MEET AND GREET WITH MANOLO BLAHNIK. [Opps, caps ;)]. More details of events are available here. And even the t-shirts are cute.

Interesting observation - no event in Australia. Perhaps Sydney & Melbourne couldn't decide who was the fashion capital? The obvious solution - hold it in Canberra...? Kidding, kidding!

"A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous"

The word "Chanel" makes one think of Paris, Lagerfeld, tweed suits and the ubiquitous interlocking c's...

The name "Chanel" is associated with class, luxury and reeks just a little of old money. Yet Coco Chanel (or "Chasnel" as was incorrectly scrawled on her birth certificate) was born in a poorhouse and spent 7 years of her youth in an orphanage, where she learned to become a seamstress.

Coco Chanel is an inspiration, a feminist and a woman before her time.

To quote Ms Chanel...

"Fashion fades, only style remains the same"

"There is time for work and time for love. That leaves no other time".

The ultimate Chanel experience...

Visit the original Chanel store at 31 Rue Cambon in Paris (take a map, like Chanel its quite discreet) and buy yourself something nice. (Just don't lose that "something nice" at your work Christmas party...)

Feel free to add your own Chanel experience...
