Latest girl crush

Olivia Palermo

Admittedly, my taste in television can veer towards the trashy. Gossip Girl, Australia's Next Top Model and lately, The City.

Premise is as follows: typical LA socialite gets job at Diane von Furstenburg and moves to New York. Lives in impossibly expensive apartment in Gramercy and dates Adrian Grenier look-a-like with an Australian accent (aka Jay Lyon from the band Tamarama).

Anyhow, the real stand-out in the show is Olivia Palermo, the very uptown, very polished Charlotte York/Blair Waldorf piece of work. She may not command much air time but is easily the most interesting. She reminds me of a boss I used to work for who would always take a long pause after you had said something - instead of offering an instant response like most people. Very very off-putting but I admired that quality. He practiced what your mum has told you time and again - think before you speak.

Just popping down to The Corner Store

Bison milk jug/vase in the shade "milk"

Have found the most amazing design (furniture & homewares) store in Parap called The Corner Store. Not to confused with Sydney's The Corner Shop (also v cool: it stocks both Isabel Marant and Alexander Wang).

The Parap store stocks Missoni towels, Bison stoneware and Moleskine journals as well as an interesting (and expensive) selection of furniture.

Hammock!
